Michigan Weddings Located outside a magnificent old Castle Will Accommodate any Denominational Wedding

Michigan weddingsWhen people hear the words ‘destination weddings’, they typically think of a tropical getaway in which the couple marries at sunset on the beach or high above the seashore on a cliff with a beautiful view; however things are changing in these recessionary times and more and more couples are deciding to stay closer to home yet they are not giving up on a destination that will make their wedding day a spectacular success and something to remember.

Michigan weddings located in Charlevoix, Michigan, could offer a couple their choice of a wedding in any of the four seasons because the Midwest experiences all four ‘flavors’ of the year – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  A destination wedding in the tropics only offers a sun drenched day at the beach; whereas if the couple enjoys winter, they could marry outside in one of the beautiful Michigan gardens while small fire pits are close by to keep guests and the wedding party warm and if it happens to snow, all the better. Then the guests would go inside for a wonderful wedding reception including dinner and dancing.

Castle weddings are becoming more popular as a destination wedding not only because it is in the United States and easier to travel to, but many people are not affiliated with any type of church or perhaps they have lived together for many years and have finally decided to tie the knot and would rather have a unique, yet simple ceremony that includes all their friends and family but not the traditional church.  The castle at Charlevoix does include a chapel if the bride and groom wishes to be married in a somewhat traditional fashion; however many more couples choose to be married outside the chapel somewhere within the castle or among one of the many beautiful gardens in the courtyard surrounding the old building.

With a destination wedding, it is best to send out the invitations as least two to three months in advance of the ceremony so that potential guests will be able to plan for their trip such as taking off work, arranging for child care, hotel lodging and travel accommodations.
